Many Security Companies Don't Understand IP Cameras

IP Cameras aren't just simple plug and play devices. There are a number of factors that must be taken into consideration when selecting the right camera and lens for each application not to mention all of the programming variables that come in to play.

For example when looking for a camera option with a longer focal length I see so many make the mistake in assuming the zoom factor of the lens should be the primary consideration. This couldn’t be further from the truth. When looking for greater detail at maximum range the cameras sensor resolution could mitigate the lens’ capability all together or provide a better image than a camera with a lower zoom factor. Assuming a camera is defaulted at the best setting is also another mistake we see frequently. Storage space is wasted with camera image sizes that are unnecessary or of nothing but total darkness or no motion activity. We see so many features go unused and the majority of the time the end user and security provider either didn’t understand them or know the existed at all.
